Mermaids out of the water...

I loved this yarn from Shibui knits. The socks turned out awesome and the pattern was easy to do.

I'm inspired! Those mittens are so cool. I have finished the mermaid socks (picture coming) and have one regia silk sock done and the other one started. So, I'll be on the hunt for a new small project and there is sock yarn on the way...Apple Laine and Zen, but who says they have to be for socks!

It's snowy here and the kids haven't had school since last week. Finally things are melting...kitty is glad.

Here are some finished socks...one recent the other from a month ago...

Yarn: merino/tencel, kettle dyed by me

Pattern: my own, toe up - 24 st. magic O cast on, garter stitch heel (like afterthought) started early on heel for more cushion. 2x2 ribbing for the leg.

size 1 dpn (2.25mm)

Yarn: Lisa Souza Sock!Merino, Mars Quake - the amount of yarn is so generous, I used less than half the skein!

Pattern: my own, toe up - 24 st. magic O cast on, modified rib, gusset w/no pick up eye of partridge heel.
size 1 dpn (2.25mm)
