For my KSKS pal...

The Questionnaire and my answers:
Foot Size: 8 ¾” circumference around the base of the toes, just above the ankle bone circumference 8 ¼”. Foot length is 9”. I like short socks and have never run out of yarn.
What are your favorite colors? Blue-violet, eggplant, lime green, coral, bright neon pink…really anything but solid orange or yellow
Are you a new sock knitter? How long have you been knitting socks? I’m not a new sock knitter although it is one of the more recent things I’ve started to knit. I’ve been knitting for 15 years and knitting socks for 18 months.
Do you prefer solid or multicolored yarn? I like both, it really depends on the sock pattern I’m making.
What fibers do you prefer in sock yarn? Not to be a yarn snob, but itchies drive me crazy, so it’s very soft wool (i.e. merino, cormo, ramboullet) or cotton. Elastics are fine, i.e. nylon, lycra.
Where do you usually knit socks? All over, in the car, in the house, at the dr.’s office, wherever I have some spare time.
How do you usually carry/store small projects? In a clear plastic ziplock bag (LOL)
What are your favorite sock knitting patterns? I love the Jaywalker pattern (toe up), Nancy Bush patterns, and my own pattern, thought I’ve done socks from online patterns I’ve found.
What are your favorite sock knitting techniques? Toe up and DPN, although I am giving the 2 circulars technique another try.
What new techniques would you like to try? Cabled socks or lace socks or really anything as I'm not to picky, just happy to be knitting socks.
Do you prefer circulars or dpns for sock knitting? I prefer dpns, but have bought some circular addis to take when we go to California this summer. I’d hate to lose 1 dpn somewhere in the plane, the car, etc.
What are some of your favorite yarns? Knit picks, Socks that Rock, Cherry Hill, Louet Gems...but not really picky as long as the fiber content is okay.
What yarn do you totally covet? That would be Art Yarns Regal Silk. Though for socks I’d like to try something the Interlacements Tiny Toes because it sounds interesting, but haven’t actually seen any in person. I also have been looking at Tess Yarns Super Socks – in undyed so I can dye it myself.
Any pattern you would love to make if money and time were no object? Hmmm, not sock related, but Sam the Ram.
Favorite kind of needles (brand, materials, straights or circs, etc)? I prefer circulars or DPNs. For circulars, I use both wood and metal. For DPNs I use wood.
If you were a specific kind of yarn, which brand and kind of yarn would you be? Something that feels nice, but easy to care for…Socks That Rocks has been good for me and I love the colors. Machine wash and lay flat to dry
Do you have a favorite candy or mail-able snack? I love dark chocolate with nuts or fruit, gummy bears, chocolate rasberry sticks
What’s your favorite animal? Giraffes, then bunnies and sea otters
Do you have pets? What are their species/names/ages? We have a rabbit, Cinnamon, who is almost 1 year old. Her birthday is the same day as my husband’s, 6/21.
If you were a color what color would you be? Dark blue violet, because it’s beautiful and reminds me of YUMMY blueberries
Describe your favorite shirt (yours or someone else’s). My favorite shirt is one that pulls over my head (no buttons) and it doesn’t require ironing, yet is less casual than a t-shirt or polo shirt. Think tunic, but not too long.
What is your most inspiring image, flower, or object in nature? I love the red/gold/yellow leaves of the trees in the fall.
Tell me the best quote you’ve ever heard or read. “Education is lifelong” – Mr. Hernandez, my daughter’s (Kim) school assistant Principal. I believe in continuing to learn new things and to keep growing & maturing.
Do you have a wishlist? I don’t have a written list.

Yippee!

Backtack3 received!

Woohoo! What a fun little swap to get in the mail. My partner was Julie Vician and here is the sweet bunny she made for me. Our bunny likes this new bunny! You don't see the sweets she sent, but it really isn't because I ate them already. Loved the sweets!

I love the bunny too, especially the buttons.

My Backtack3 Send off

I was inspired by Posie Gets Cosie and her sock bunnies. I also wanted to try some do-it-myself chenille so with the cross of the two ideas was born:
